An RFID tag is attached to an object which might be owned by a number of owners during its life cycle. In this aspect, the RFID system requires the tag to transfer ownership to its new owner. This operation might include a lot of security challenges and aspects. In this prospective utilization, many tag ownership transfer protocols and systems have been introduced on passive RFID tags. In this chapter, we are undertaking a short survey on some ownership transfer protocols and systems which were introduced and used to ensure the security and privacy of the involved parties. Also, we will mention some authentication protocols that were used in the same aspect to insure security before the tag ownership transfer process.
