This work was noted in the House of Representatives as a 'monumental achievement', by the Federal Member for Chisholm, Gladys Liu, MP. (House of Representatives Hansard 22 March 2021).Research statement
Through extensive archival research and interviews with past and present member of the RSL, One Hundred Years in the Making charts a history of the Box Hill RSL from its origins in the aftermath of the First World War to its contemporary status as one of the most successful sub-branches in Victoria, examining how the Sub-Branch has adapted over its first century to the changing needs of veterans and the wider Box Hill community. As well as telling the stories of some of the key characters and events, it critical examines the BHRSL's approach to exhibitions, commemoration, and welfare, showing how the mission to honour the past, and look after the living remains as strong today as it has ever been.Publication classification
