In the crosshairs of the fourfold: critical thoughts on Aleksandr Dugin's Heidegger

journal contribution
posted on 2020-01-01, 00:00 authored by Matthew Sharpe
This article is the first to critically examine Aleksandr Dugin's influential reading of Heidegger, as it is presented in his 2014 book, Another Beginning. Against attempts to read Heidegger as a liberal, which sit increasingly uneasily with the textual archive, Dugin presents an unapologetic Right Heideggerianism. in contrast to other literature on Dugin, this piece engages with his philosophical claims, and shows how they confirm his positioning as a post-fascistic extremist dedicated to the militant eschatological overthrow of the Atlanticist 'West'.
